Project

Bench2practice

In my journey with Moderna, I contributed to the design of wireframes for an educational website called Bench2Practice (B2P), which is now part of a larger moderna website called Atlas. B2P's purpose is to inform and educate healthcare professionals on data and recommendations for evidence-based behavioural change, optimizing patient outcomes, and improving quality measures.

The project emphasized data generation, synthesis, broad exchange, focused engagement, and practical application.

My role

The project commenced with numerous stakeholder meetings, where we delved into the website's main goal with the scientist who conceived the idea. Our focus was on understanding the target audience and the content the scientist envisioned for the website. Simultaneously, internal meetings with the development team were crucial, as the website was to be built in Contentful, and we aimed to leverage existing components to meet the tight deadline.

The Challenge

One significant challenge I faced at B2P was designing wireframes exclusively with pre-existing components. To address this, I thoroughly studied these components, engaging in multiple discussions with the internal development team to understand their flexibility. I also examined examples of how these components were utilized in previous projects.

The tight deadline posed another challenge, exacerbated by the project's nature. Working with Pharmaceutical companies entails legal approval before any launch, making the deadline feel even more pressing for a designer.

The result

Bench2Practice was successfully developed, meeting both the timeline and client expectations. The project was highlighted in a larger Apply company meeting as an exemplary case, showcasing successful navigation through numerous requirements, challenges, and a tight deadline. This achievement was attributed to exceptional teamwork and effective communication among all team members.

The wireframes were developed using components from previous projects, and the difficulty lay in integrating the content with the existing components.

Project

Atlas

What is Atlas?

Atlas is the Medical Digital ecosystem of how Moderna shows up for all HCPs ( doctors, pharmacists, nurses,, academics, etc.) across a variety of practice settings (health systems, community clinics, pharmacies, government)

The problems we needed to address…

  • As an HCP There were too many digital experiences to visit that house similar medical information, each with a unique user experience and branding, which was complex to navigate.

  • There was opportunity to ensure a Moderna digital ecosystem to be built for reusability and to be shared throughout the broader system.

  • Local markets needed to be able to launch experiences that conform to their regulatory environment and regional needs quickly.

  • The medical information and tools were not organized in a meaningful and personalized way for visiting HCPs.

My role

Atlas served as Moderna's comprehensive ecosystem for healthcare providers, consolidating information from various existing platforms into one unified hub. Despite Moderna having multiple platforms, the project aimed to streamline access by bringing them together under the umbrella of Atlas. The scale of Atlas was significant, as it needed to encompass all informational aspects within Moderna.

The Challenge

The project involved extensive collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts due to the diverse informational branches within Moderna. A noteworthy challenge was that each section of the site had its own set of subject matter experts, requiring their involvement throughout the design process for approval. Additionally, accommodating the legal and other requirements of each country where Atlas was to be launched posed a unique challenge, necessitating adjustments to the design for each location.

Testing & result

Upon launching the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), we conducted usability testing with actual users and used the research findings to prioritize future features. This iterative approach ensured the ongoing refinement and enhancement of Atlas based on user feedback and evolving requirements.
